Yubo hosts OutGeek x Women in Tech at its Paris HQ, uniting women in tech for networking, insights, and connections in a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere.
Picture this: a room buzzing with laughter, introductions, and some seriously inspiring women sharing their journeys in tech. This was the scene at Yubo’s Paris headquarters, where the live social discovery app hosted the latest OutGeek x Women in Tech event. Designed to give women in tech a platform to connect, network, and feel supported, the event offered an upbeat twist on your typical career fair.
Forget stiff handshakes and scripted questions; chief technology officers, software engineers, data scientists, and user interface/user experience designers mingled, swapped stories, shared advice, and, most importantly, had fun.
Since its launch in 2015, Yubo — founded by Sacha Lazimi, Jérémie Aouate, and Arthur Patora — has drawn over 80 million users from more than 140 countries. The platform allows users to connect through livestreaming, messaging, and gaming, creating a space where people can hang out online.
“The next wave of online networking will reflect a growing demand for fulfilling human connections on a one-to-one basis or within small groups. At Yubo, we consider ourselves pioneers in this next era, and social discovery is the foundation of this emerging phase,” Lazimi stated.
Known for connecting people through live interaction, Yubo’s involvement with OutGeek seemed like the perfect match. For anyone in tech, rubbing elbows with the decision-makers at Yubo HQ was the kind of golden opportunity that doesn’t come around daily.
The OutGeek Magic
OutGeek isn’t your typical tech networking group. Founded and led by women, this initiative showcases and empowers women in tech, proving that there’s room — and a real need — for more women in the industry. One thing was evident by the night’s end: OutGeek doesn’t just talk about diversity; it brings it to life.
At the Yubo event, attendees mingled with tech professionals from companies like French media holding company Groupe TF1; Conservatoire Augmenté, a private company owned by the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris; and Adikteev, an app re-engagement platform.
“I think it’s important to organize these events to give women the opportunity to apply for those roles to bring the quota, the ratio of women in tech to equal levels. We see that on those kinds of events it’s not just the opportunity to network with a company but also to network between themselves so women support one another, they help one another in the girl career parts,” stated Emilia Krysztofiak, OutGeek x Women in Tech event director. “I think it was fantastic. We had over 70 attendees. The atmosphere was really good, good networking. We are absolutely looking forward to the next event in Paris, approximately in April.”
Margaux Liquard, Yubo’s head of safety, discussed her experiences and explained how the live social discovery app works to build a safe, scalable platform.
She has confirmed that the live social discovery app collaborates with its product teams “to develop safety tools to empower our community to feel safe and listened to.”
Liquard explained, “We lead the development and implementation of safety policies, hand in hand with our legal department, which are designed to protect our community and prevent abusive and illegal behavior on Yubo.”
Yubo Is All About Connection
Yubo’s focus on real-time interactions brings a friendly, social vibe, making it feel more like connecting with friends than scrolling through endless posts. Hosting OutGeek at its Paris HQ added a new dimension to that mission, bringing people face-to-face to form lasting connections.
Yubo has always aimed to create this vibe online, so it’s no surprise it carried over into an in-person event. OutGeek’s dedication to uplifting women in tech paired perfectly with Yubo’s mission to bring people together in safe, friendly spaces. The evening was a celebration of women shaping the tech world in their own unique ways.
Together, OutGeek and Yubo are setting an example of what it means to be truly inclusive. Whether it’s amplifying women’s voices in tech or simply providing a platform for safe, open conversation, both organizations are committed to making a difference. And, in today’s tech scene, that’s the kind of partnership worth cheering for.
